Hi everyone!
So it's the last week on the year 2016 in school. I can't believe this term has gone so fast!
A few last things before we break up for Christmas.
It is the Christmas Party tomorrow afternoon - children are to come to school in their uniform and get changed at lunchtime.
We will be doing a spelling test on Wednesday:
5 spellings: Leisure, lightning, marvellous, mischievous, muscle
3 spellings: guarantee, harass, hindrance
There is also a Carol Service at church tomorrow night form 6:00pm - it would be lovely if we saw lots of families at this special time of year.
School closes on Wednesday at 3:30pm for the Christmas holidays.
Can you chase your children up for reading books, spelling books, maths homework books and the grid homework books if they have not already been handed in, we seem to have a few missing.
I will be sending home new spellings for the January term and a piece of maths homework on Wednesday keep a look out for that.
I hope Santa brings everything the children are waiting and hoping for and that you all have a wonderful Christmas break. Relax and enjoy your family time.
See you all in the new year,
Miss Rawlings

December 1st Class Worship
Hi all,
It is our class worship on Thursday! That came round quick. i hope you are all helping with practicing those lines. Get the children to stand at the top of the stairs and shout down to you. It will help them carry their voices across our hall.
As always, you are all welcome! We hope to see lots of smiley faces at the back watching closely as we show you what we have been learning in our RE topic.
Apologies to those four children who have brought their maths homework back and came home today without a book. I have left them at home and they will be back for the children on Monday. I attached squared paper in case they were ultra keen and wanted to get a head start this weekend. the sticker charts for homework are slowly filling up! I wonder who will be the first to pick from that prize box! I might even add some extra special Christmas treats.
We have also been chosen to help the reception with their nativity this year. I have sent home a song sheet with the song, I Love My Life, by Robbie Williams. If you want to practice at home the link is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7YVEUhEW2w
The nativity will be at school and will require us to be here on night of the week.i will blog that date next week.
This weeks spellings are:
5 spellings: frequently, forty, familiar, government, foreign
3 spellings: exaggerate, existence, excellent
Have an amazing weekend!
See you all next week

Don't forget its parents evening this week.
I hope you all have your parents evening slips in. It would be great to see everyone on Thursday night.
This weeks spellings are: convenience, criticise, correspond, curiosity, definite
Can we please encourage children to be reading at home. We seem to be seeing less children with reading books every week. They don't need to read the whole book, but if a parent/guardian signs to say they have read a few pages that would be great.
Enjoy what is left of the weekend in the miserable weather today.
See you tomorrow.

There has been a chocolate explosion in Ash Class this morning.
Well the children have certainly had fun this week. baking, painting and finishing their creative stories.
We are in the process of changing our classroom display to show case all of our watercolour painting. So I will try to share that with you next week.
We certainly had a great time creating Cake Pops - and they were definitely better than the ones I made at home. I hope some of you had the opportunity to taste them from the Macmillan Cafe.
Spellings for next week are: Cemetery, bruise, committee, category, communicate.
Don't forget your wellies this week for forest school!

Week 4 already?
Wow! Time seems to be disappearing.
Thank you to all those parents who came to support us in church on Friday morning. It was lovely to see so many faces.
The spellings for you children this week are: Available , Awkward, Average, Bruise, Bargain.
In the coming week, we will be tested our baking skills in preparation for the Macmillan Coffee Morning.
I have been testing our Cake Pops this weekend... I'm not sure baking is the skill I am best at! The children will be much better.
Hopefully, you will be able to come and taste one after school, 3:45pm at our Cafe. Remember we are raising money for a great cause.
Ash class are doing really well with their reading at the moment. I seem to have lots of books everyday to give raffle tickets for. Let's keep encouraging them to read. It's lovely to see them so interested.
Enjoy the end of your weekend,
Miss Rawlings

What will this week bring?
So we have photographs, our Harvest service and lots of work ahead of us.
What an exciting week!
Don't forget we meet at church on Friday morning at 9:00am and please feel free to stay and watch your children as they lead the Harvest worship.
We had another great week last week, all children did fantastic with their reading. Let's keep that up all year. Remember even if your child has only read one or two pages, sign their book and they can go in the draw for a prize on a Friday. All reading records need to be in school every day.
Spellings for Friday are:
1) appreciate
2) attached
3) ancient
4) apparent
5) amateur
Get learning them :)
Have a lovely week

Welcome to Ash Class
Hi!
I hope you have all had a nice relaxing weekend and are getting ready to start those brains working again tomorrow.
What a fantastic start to the new year we had last week! I am really excited about where we will end this year if this is how we have started it.
Spellings went home last week and the first spelling test will be on Friday morning. Please bring your spelling books back then (if parents could help by reminding children that would be great)
It was lovely to see everyone with a full PE kit this week; let's hope that continues for the entire year.
I will be sending homework for the half term home with parents who come and see me at 'Meet the Teacher' on Tuesday (13th September) evening at 6pm. But don't worry, it will find it's way home on Wednesday if you can't make it.
It would be lovely to see as many faces as possible on Tuesday night. I'm sure you all want to know what Ash class will be up to this year. There are lots of exciting things planned.
I hope you all got the letter about Lancaster Castle on Friday, if not I will get another copy for you. Just let me know.
See you all tomorrow.
Miss Rawlings
P.S. remember to wear your smiles too!
