Every week seems as exciting as the last!

Wow! What amazing things you all did with the 'green for your queen' theme. I don;t think I've ever seen head gear quite so big - especially from Josh and Ethan!

I'm going to run a competition in class this week - I'm wondering who is reading the blog. So if you (or your child) has read this pass on the message. Anyone who tells me this week the phrase, "penguins live in Antarctica" will be put into a prize draw for the end of the week. Let's see who's reading the blog.

 I got lots of parents evening slips back this week. If you can;t make it next week please let me know and we can arrange another time to get together to look at the progress your child is making.

cool to be kind and international women's day

There were lots of exciting things happening around school this week and Ash class certainly didn't miss out!
We wrote some interesting recipes for a friend, learnt lots of things about J.K.Rowling and spent some time working with measurement.

Parents evening letters came home on Friday - please don't forget to book an appointment. If you can't make the 29th of March, give me a ring at school and we will arrange another time. 

Excitingly, the RobinWood letters came home this week too. If you want your child to go (and it was amazing this year - first hand experience) please don;t forget to pay the deposit using parent pay.

Oh and it's wear something green day on Friday 17th March. That doesn't mean you have to wear a school uniform. Anything green will do :)

books characters, CSI's and programming a robot... this week has been eventful

Hi all,

Sorry it's been a while.

Thank you so much for the effort with all the amazing costumes for World Book Day this year! I didn't even recognise some children when they came in on Thursday.

Today we have been CSI's solving a crime at Humpty Dumpty's House. Ask more questions at home, it was very interesting!

There are a lot of children with no homework books/reading books/spelling boosk at the moment. can we remind them please. maths homework should be back on a Thursday, spelling books on a Friday and it would be nice to see everyone reading at least once a week with an adult at home (more would be better)

Alma

So we finally got to the end of the film clip Alma! It was definitely very weird! But some great writing came from it. Lots of relative clause, similes and prepositional phrases (ask your children, they should know what all those things mean)  

We embarked on the tricky fractions quest, ordering, comparing and the looking at equivalent decimals and percentages. The terror on faces this week when I uttered the word fractions was interesting, especially as we finished the week saying how easy it was! Maths is great fun!

I had lots of maths homework missing this week... hopefully I will see a full classes worth on Thursday. Fingers crossed

A full week

And what an exciting week we had!

• Swimming for the first time 
• Tri-golf for an afternoon - I think we lost parts of the hall floor with those golf clubs!
• Fitness training - I was definitely more tired than the children! But a goo bit of competition. 
• We've started getting to the good bit of Harry and the Wrinkles - a bank robbery has happened! 
• Everyone's wondering what happens next with Alma 
• We became whizzes with Roman numerals
